IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER
Standing on a frozen lake under the Northern Lights, or a sleeping volcano with its head above the clouds and foot deep in the ocean, the liquid iron core of Earth, solar storms and magnetic fields appear tangible and wondrous.
Inspired by this ITEOTB plays with electromagnetic particles traveling through space and our atmosphere, momentarily shaping colors and worlds depending on the eyes of the beholder. The world’s a stage, Plato’s cave a black hole where we’re projected, held together by curiosity and attraction, manifesting a body or bodies, learning to navigate limbs and life.
Perceptions of light and the universe are filtered by our human bodies, here represented by The Traveling Companion - a recurring character in previous works in various forms and stages of becoming.

ITEOTB plays with light, bodies, textiles, movement and perspectives, further tweaked through digital film editing.
The sound intro/outro by Klaus Nielsen & Nikolai Linden-Vørnle mixes data sonifications from 24 hours of a geomagnetic storm - the cause of Northern Lights - in 2011, and activity in the magnetic core of the Earth in Moskosel and Mauna Kea (Hawaii, USA) during 100000 years.
The tracks Suitar_Samba by Ewan Hill, and Strings and Digging_up_an_original by The Quantizer group, are sonifications of particle data from CERN.
