Gerardo Salas, visual artists, creative director and postproducer. Contradictions as the politics of everyday life are the main source of concern in Jerry Salas' work; his explorations through subtle gestures and intense interactions with the environment and light develop poetic dimensions of everyday life. Salas proposes to abandon spectacle and the temptations facilitated by technological tools.
His installations, as well as his reactive video projections and collaborative efforts, are characterised by oscillating between the welcoming and the violent, always subverting expectations. Salas constructs a conceptual architecture that allows him to translate into space the paradoxes at work in the way he perceives interpersonal relationships.
Jerry Salas studied Marketing and Advertising at the University of Guadalajara, quickly abandoning the marketing industry in favour of a self-taught journey into the world of self-taught in the world of visual media through experimentation. He has been a creative director and postproducer in several commercial projects throughout the last years.
